Where does the goods and groceries come from in the middle ages? How where they moved from town to town?
During the weekend 22.-23. september we focus on trade and ships. Transporting cargo by ship was by far the easiest way. The ships were faster than wagon and there were a lot of small vessels to transport stuff from one harbour to another.
Sundkøbing has its own small harbour and a few ships. The merchants sail to Lübeck to buy groceries that are not avaliable in Denmark, but also to sell the stuff that are produced locally, like hides and horses.
