Midsummer's eve

Practical info: ​

  • On 23 June, the Medieval Center is from 10:00 to 21:30.

  • Admission from 10:00 a.m.: regular prices (prices can be found here).

  • Tickets can be purchased at the entrance or online here.

  • Admission after 16:00: 65 kr. per adult (over 12 years), children 4-12 years 40 kr. (Children 0-3 years – free).

  • Menu packages can be ordered here. Menu packages include admission to the Medieval Centre for the entire day and a medieval-inspired menu.

  • The menu is available from 17:00 and can be eaten inside the Gæstgiveriet or outside in the Food hut area (table reservations are not possible).

  • Guests are welcome to bring your own picnic basket and eat on the premises.

We are delighted to invite our guests to join us in celebrating the enchanting tradition of Sankt Hans Aften/midsummer’s eve. Prepare to immerse yourself in a day filled with captivating living history, bonfires, exciting knight’s tournaments, and joyous company.

 

Sankt Hans Aften holds a special place in Danish hearts, as it marks the longest day of the year. This cherished event embraces Denmark's old customs and legends, bringing together families and friends.

 

Bonfire Extravaganza: Join us as we gather around our majestic bonfire, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness. Immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere with a range of activities for all ages: We have 2 knight’s tournaments during the day, and our medieval trebuchets will shoot with fireballs, a spectacle you don’t want to miss!

Admission after 16:00: 65 kr. per adult (all over 12 years old), children 4-12 years old 40 kr. (Children 0-3 years old — free).

Speaker of the year: Sælma, known from DR Ultra and Tidsrejsen

We are proud to announce that this year's bonfire speaker for Midsummer's Eve at the Medieval Centre will be Sælma Vium Alakhir – known from MGP, DR Ultra and the series Tidsrejsen – Arven efter Drago, which was filmed at the Medieval Centre, among other locations.

Ridder Svane's food hut special offer

If you don't feel like making a packed dinner, fear not – we have created a delicious menu that can be enjoyed at Ridder Svanes Madhytte. The menu is medieval-inspired with a modern summer twist.

  • The offer of a 3-course medieval menu plus admission must be ordered by 20 June at the latest. 

  • All dishes can be purchased on the day at Ridder Svanes Madhytte, but there are a limited number of places available.
